We want to promote sustainable diets across the student body and university as a whole. The Feed is the only canteen in our university; it can and should be 100% plant-based! This is our goal. We work closely alongside the UEA PBU group for socials and campaigning, to make Norwich part of the solution to climate challenges and animal suffering. Our institution deserves to be at the forefront of this change - let's make this happen!
Food systems are responsible for around a third of all global greenhouse gas emissions, and animal products are the dominant driver. Meat and dairy alone generate more emissions than all the world's planes, ships, and cars combined. Norwich University is currently part of this problem, contributing to climate change and global suffering with every animal-based meal they serve.
Every plate is a decision Norwich University makes and can change. Norwich University has already committed to maximising the sustainability of it's operations. Going 100% plant-based is one of the most visible, controllable ways to actually deliver on that promise.
Universities across Europe have made the change. Within the UK, both the University of Stirling and UEA have a fully plant-based canteen outlets. Norwich University of the Arts can be next!
